The Power of the Sun
Have you ever really stopped and thought about how powerful the sun is?
Yes, we know it can burn you.
Yes, we know it gives us light.
Yes, we know it makes life on this planet possible.
But that is not what I am talking about.
I am talking about the power of the sun and how it makes you feel.
They say when people live in the sun states like Florida, Texas, Arizona, and California the mood of the people tends to be a little more relaxed. A little lighter. A little more patient.
Why?
Because of the sun.
I cannot speak for everyone, but for me the sun has a kind of healing power.
When I step outside and feel it something shifts.
My mood changes.
My mind slows down.
The fog clears just a little.
It almost feels like hitting a reset button.
If you ever played Mario Brothers growing up you know exactly what I mean.
Mario would be running through the level getting hit by obstacles, dodging enemies, trying not to fall into a pit.
Then suddenly he grabs the star.
And for a moment everything changes.
The music speeds up.
He moves differently.
The obstacles that were dangerous seconds ago suddenly lose their power.
That is what the sun can feel like sometimes.
Not magic.
But a moment.
A moment where the heaviness lifts just enough for you to breathe.
A moment where your shoulders drop.
A moment where your thoughts are not racing as fast.
A moment where you remember that the day might still be okay.
For those of us who carry a lot responsibility, pressure, expectations, and the invisible weight that life places on our backs small resets matter.
Sometimes the reset is a conversation.
Sometimes it is prayer.
Sometimes it is silence.
And sometimes it is simply stepping outside and letting the sun hit your face.
No phone.
No noise.
Just a reminder that light still exists.
It is amazing how something so simple can change your perspective for the rest of the day.
So today, if you can, take five minutes.
Step outside.
Close your eyes.
Let the sun hit your face.
You might realize something powerful.
Even when life feels heavy, the light is still there.
What is one small thing that helps you reset when the day starts to feel heavy?
